Artist's Description

This woodcut was designed to show a part of the Yukon Territory wildlife that was disappearing even in the 1960's. whether it was over hunting, or some other phenomenon, the old timers there told me that once there were thousands of caribou in herds, and now they were rarely seen. Moose were more proliferous and that was what the native relied on for their winter meat.
