Artist's Description
Elvin Jones was a guest drummer at the Jazz Hall in Santa Barbara in 1996. This painting was conceived as a poster for future shows at the Jazz Hall. Marsalis. Both Elvin Jones and Delfeayo Marsalis signed sketches that I did of them live, in pastel. Elvin was a drummer in John Coltrane's band.
