Artist's Description
The painting was originally a black and white charcoal on gray Canson paper. At that time I was sketching in a jazz club in Santa Barbara and creating many small jazz images from performers in an intimate jazz setting. Eventually I began to research the egenary jazz players and do larger works from photographs.
