About Suzanne Giuriati Cerny
Biography and Artist statement: I have made available a collection of live sketches and oil paintings of jazz musicians, live in-performance and from photographs. Hi Joyce, this is a pastel, and I have several oil paintings of this Guatemalan Girl as well. I was housesitting for a woman in Walnut Creek where I currently stay, and she was in Spanish language iimmersion program there. She would bring back fabriques and postcards each time, and this was from one of her cards. I am not sure what she carried in her basket. I have spent time in Puerto Penasco, Mexico, about 90 miles south of the Arizona border at Yuma. The small town on the cliffs of the Gulf of California is also known as Rocky. Point. I have one painting of a Mexican vender girl from my own camera, and with her mother's permission, in Rocky Point.
